December 15, 2024. Saratoga Capital Management Ltd. (SCM) announces the establishment and management of Creative Capital Ventures RAIF V.C.I.C. Plc, a Cyprus-registered Reserved Alternative Investment Fund structured as an umbrella investment vehicle.
The fund was registered with the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) under registration number RAIF190 on 13 December 2024, with CCV Growth Fund I established as its initial investment compartment.
The fund provides a dedicated institutional structure for a venture and growth-capital strategy focused on early-stage technology, digital media, innovative consumer businesses and intellectual property opportunities.
CCV Growth Fund I
CCV Growth Fund I represents the investment strategy of Creative Capital Ventures, a London-Lisbon venture capital and innovation platform focused on identifying and supporting early-stage businesses with significant growth potential.
The strategy combines investment capital with strategic and operational support, with a particular focus on technology-driven businesses, digital media, sports technology, entertainment, lifestyle and innovative consumer products. Saratoga Capital previously announced its investment in Creative Capital Ventures and its plans for the CCV Growth I strategy.
The objective is to identify businesses at an early stage where capital, strategic expertise and access to an established ecosystem can accelerate development and support the creation of long-term enterprise value.
A Dedicated Alternative Investment Structure
Creative Capital Ventures RAIF V.C.I.C. Plc provides the legal and investment structure for the strategy, while Saratoga Capital Management Ltd. acts as the Alternative Investment Fund Manager.
This structure creates a clear separation between the investment strategy and the regulated fund-management function.
SCM provides the regulated AIFM infrastructure, including portfolio management, risk management, governance and the other functions required for the professional management of the investment vehicle within its regulatory mandate.
Creative Capital Ventures provides the underlying venture investment strategy and opportunity pipeline.
Investing in Innovation
The venture capital strategy is designed to access businesses operating in sectors undergoing significant technological and consumer transformation.
These include:
- Technology and digital platforms
- Digital media and entertainment
- Sports technology
- Innovative consumer products
- Lifestyle and wellness
- Intellectual property and related assets
The strategy is designed around the identification of companies with scalable business models, strong intellectual property and the potential to develop significant enterprise value.
The investment approach is active rather than purely financial. Capital is combined with strategic guidance and operational support as portfolio companies progress through their growth cycle.
Part of SCM’s Alternative Investment Platform
Creative Capital Ventures represents an expansion of the investment strategies available through the SCM platform.
SCM is authorised and regulated by CySEC under AIFM licence AIFM63/56/2013. Its authorisation covers the investment-management functions specified under section 6(5) of the Cyprus AIFM Law.
The addition of Creative Capital Ventures provides the platform with dedicated exposure to venture and growth capital alongside its other alternative investment strategies.
This supports SCM’s broader objective of providing institutional investment structures across different asset classes and investment mandates.
Institutional Investment Framework
The RAIF structure provides a flexible framework for specialised alternative investment strategies while maintaining professional fund management and regulatory oversight.
Creative Capital Ventures RAIF V.C.I.C. Plc is intended for the appropriate investor categories under its fund documentation and applicable regulatory framework.
The fund is therefore positioned as an institutional investment vehicle rather than a retail investment product.
Building Long-Term Value
The investment proposition is based on identifying companies where early-stage capital and active strategic involvement can materially influence future growth.
For investors, this provides access to a segment of the private markets where value creation can occur through business development, technology adoption, intellectual property development, market expansion and strategic execution.
The strategy recognises that venture investing involves higher levels of investment and execution risk, and therefore requires specialist sourcing, assessment and portfolio management.
Looking Forward
Creative Capital Ventures is intended to develop a portfolio of high-potential companies and investment opportunities across technology, media, consumer innovation and intellectual property.
For SCM, the fund represents an important addition to its alternative investment platform and demonstrates its capacity to establish and manage specialised investment vehicles around differentiated investment strategies.
For Creative Capital Ventures, the fund provides the institutional structure through which its venture investment strategy can be deployed and scaled.
