John Darling

John partnered with Saratoga Capital in 2022 through Impact Counsel and has led the venture capital group since that time.

Founding Impact Counsel in 2019, a venture builder based in Lisbon, John has successfully overseen an uplift of US$42m in portfolio value across 7 portfolio companies, with 2022 alone seeing a 3:1 equity earned ratio to capital spent.

John is responsible for sourcing new business investment opportunities and seeding accordingly, with Saratoga Capital’s private equity group becoming involved at a later stage of portfolio company development. John is planning on launching the team’s first regulated venture capital fund Impact Counsel VC-I and has a EUR 10m commitment from Saratoga Capital.

A notable serial entrepreneur, John was formerly with Meta and Gojoko.
