First phase of Series A Financing of MOTI complete

Phase 1 of MOTI Series A Financing Round complete; company continues product roll-out

October 4, 2023. Saratoga Capital has successfully completed, as lead investor, the first phase of its Series A Financing Round of MOTI Professional Development Services Limited (MOTI).

MOTI is a next generation e-learning company that has created an innovative learning platform that combines Learning Experience (LXP) and Learning Management System (LMS) functionalities on a unified platform; offering a tailored learning experience that specifically addresses the needs of learners, employers, stakeholders and trainers.

Phase one of the Series A has been designed to help MOTI pursue a rapid growth strategy into new markets alongside additional product roll-out. As of today, MOTI is now in seven countries; three of which are in Africa (Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana) and two in the Gulf (Qatar and Kuwait), as well as Cyprus and the UK.

Since going to market in June 2023, the company has launched Sophia for Schools, an entirely cloud based community CPD (continuing professional development) platform customized for the education community, alongside Sophia for Finance, the financial industry CPD equivalent. Additionally, MOTI has launched customized solutions for various clients including the Apollo System and eLaz, the official CPD platform of the Law Association of Zambia.

Transformative change

Prior to MOTI going to market, Saratoga Capital seeded the company in order for it to conduct extensive product beta-testing, which occurred in Zambia and Kuwait.

“Saratoga’s involvement, which began at a time when alternative sources of investor financing were scarce, as the founders had no workable product to compliment their vision, put MOTI in a better position to go from an idea to successful completion of its beta-testing with an 87% user approval rating in multiple markets,” says Steven Pepa, Director. “With such a large strategic investor, MOTI’s future success is well established and we are very proud to help this vision come to market, develop additional product lines and scale accordingly. Andreas and his team are well on their way to becoming an innovative market leader.”
